Our Programs
Kindergarten and First Grade Program
It’s important for your child’s first experiences with camp to be happy ones. At this early age, children thrive when they are protected and nurtured, as well as flourish when they are encouraged to explore their own interests. The K1 program offers a small, nurturing environment in which your child gets a chance to experience all New Horizons has to offer while learning new sports, academic and social skills everyday. All head counselors are 18 years of age or older and all assistant counselors are at least 16 years of age.
2nd-9th Grade CHOICE Program
The 2nd – 9th Grade Program offers a traditional camp experience while believing in the element of CHOICE. Your child customizes their schedule with a variety of activities in the areas of: Sports, Technology, Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Innovations, Academic Enrichment and Media. Activities change bi-weekly so your child will have the opportunity to enjoy new experiences throughout the entire summer. All head counselors are 18 years of age or older and all assistant counselors are at least 16 years of age.
Counselor in training (CIT)
The 9th grade CIT program allows your child to enjoy all the activities that New Horizons has to offer. Your child will learn valuable skills through daily classroom instruction as well as participate in field experiences as an assistant counselor in a variety of activities. The goal of the CIT program is to prepare your child for opportunities with New Horizons Day Camp and to instill life skills .
Transitional Counselor Program (TCP)
In this program, your child will be working as a part time assistant, while spending the rest of their day as a camper. By enrolling in this program, your child will work closely with the camp directors, other staff members, and campers. Each TCP participant will be given a choice of activities for half of the day. The other half of the day will be spent assisting head counselors and specialists in specific activities.
